Cookin’ cakes

There comes a time in every parent’s life when he/she will be responsible for the creation of the most important element of their child’s birthday (besides the presents of course) and that is the cake. When our boy reached the ripe old age of 1 recently, we turned to the trusted and tried Women’s Weekly Cake Book For Kids, now in it’s 5,867th reprint. i should have documented the cake’s progress for the purpose of this site, but alas, I did not. Here then is the final result. My wife baked the cake and I took on the challenge of cutting and decorating. Although our son won’t remember the cake – we certainly will and it was a lot of fun doing it.
